Hello, Greetings, and Salutations

Welcome to this humble, little corner of the world-wide web. You probably came here for one of two reasons: You are curious about the Garbage-Eater's collection, or one of your pieces has the dubious honor of being featured. Take a look around and feel free to tell us what you think.

The Garbage Eater's Mission:
Deviantart's literature section is filled with horrible crimes against the English language. Quickly typed pieces filled with misuses of grammar, spelling, and punctuation grossly outweigh refined and well-crafted works. Stories with no plot, substance, or original characters abound. These poor excuses for literature are a drowning wave of mediocrity. With every number that is used to replace a word, every fragment striving to be a sentence, and every letter left out from a word, a writer cries quietly for help. When a work is deemed to be too far from passable, and the writer is ignorant, or too belligerent, our cognizant staff rallies. Through swift, responsible "fav’ing" we shall drag the offending piece into the bright light of scrutiny. All may offer criticism so the writer's mistakes will be clear. With a little tough-love, the writer will be compelled to make corrections.

Of Note: We are not responsible for any messages that may be left on your deviation. The only comments we account for are the ones that are made from the "Garbage-Eater" account. We request that if you wish to make a comment on a piece we have selected, please do so in a constructive manner.

Below are some questions you may be asking yourself:

Why is my work on here/How do I get it off/Who the hell do you think you are?

Your work is not here by accident, and we did not add it to our collection out of malice. In fact, we cannot wait to remove your work from our collection. When a piece of literature is found to be so bad, that it is screaming for help, we step in. Your work was highlighted so that all may pay special attention to it, and offer constructive feedback. You must remember that you placed your writing on a website where it is in plain view of critical eyes, so do not act surprised when someone views it.

You are in luck! Your work can be removed! If the quality of your piece has improved, and you send us a note, we will look into removing it. We are willing to listen if you wish to plead a case, but removal is at our discretion.

Still not satisfied, or just plain pissed off? We hope you take comfort in knowing that you were judged by your peers. No one here has a Ph. D. in English. You may even notice us making mistakes in our grammar/spelling (which if you point out we will fix). We are here to help you. You’re welcome.

We are always looking for help! We need people to suggest, we need people to critique, and we need people to just plain cheer us on! If you wish to just offer a few critiques, please feel free to watch us! All we ask is that you leave positive, helpful feedback on works we have fav'd. Over-achievers, please feel free to send us a note with suggestions for an entry, an application to be staff, or words of encouragement. We will read every note!
